Already tried the supermarket stuff?
Plungers, bicarb and the blue bottle will shift a soft blockage near the plughole. They do nothing for a blockage further down the line, and caustic cleaners can damage older pipes. If it has come back, or the water is not moving at all, the blockage is past the point of home remedies.

Common questions
My sink is draining slowly but it is not fully blocked. Can it wait?
It can, but slow drains rarely fix themselves. The build-up that is slowing it now is what blocks it completely next month, usually at the worst time. Clearing it early is the cheaper job.
Will drain cleaner from the supermarket damage my pipes?
Caustic cleaners can soften older plastic waste pipes and they do nothing for a physical blockage. If you have already poured some down, tell us before we start so we can work safely.
Why does my toilet gurgle when the washing machine drains?
Gurgling means air is being pulled through a trap because the line downstream is partly blocked or poorly vented. It is an early warning, and worth acting on before the toilet backs up.
Do I need to be home while you clear it?
For an inside blockage, yes, we need access. For an outside gully or drain, we can often do it while you are out if you give us the go-ahead by phone.
What if the blockage turns out to be a broken pipe?
We tell you what we have found, what fixing it involves and what it costs, before doing any more. Our drainlayer is licensed, so repairs and relays are done and certified by us.
