First, stop the water
The toby is the tap at the street boundary, usually in a small lid near the footpath. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If you cannot find or move it, turn off the mains valve at the house if there is one, and open a cold tap to drop the pressure.
Then call us with your suburb and what you can see. We assess the damage on arrival and get the risk under control before anything else.
Why pipes burst in Auckland
Age is the usual reason. Dux Quest polybutylene fails at the fittings, old galvanised steel corrodes from the inside, and copper joints let go after decades of pressure. Ground movement and roots do the rest outside.

Turn the water off at the toby or the house mains, open a cold tap to relieve the pressure, move anything electrical away from the water, and call us. Tell us your suburb and what you can see.
Does insurance cover a burst pipe?
Most home policies cover sudden damage from a burst pipe, but not gradual leaks. We document what we found so your claim has what it needs.
Should I replace all the Dux Quest?
If one fitting has failed the others are the same age. We tell you what we see and quote the full repipe so you can decide, rather than pushing it on you.
