Licensed work, by law
Gasfitting in New Zealand must be done by a licensed gasfitter registered with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board, and certified on completion. That is not a formality: uncertified gas work is a safety risk and a problem for your insurer and when you sell.
At HW Group, gas work is done and certified by our own licensed gas fitter, and you receive the certificate the job requires.

Leave the area, do not operate switches or anything with a flame, turn off the gas at the bottle or meter if you can do so safely, and call us from outside.

Common questions
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Gas work that requires certification is certified by our own licensed gasfitter on completion, and you receive the paperwork.
Can you convert my kitchen from electric to gas?
Yes, if there is natural gas at the street or space for LPG bottles. We run the pipework, fit the hob and certify the installation.
Can I connect a gas hob myself?
No. Connecting a gas appliance is restricted work in New Zealand and must be done and certified by a licensed gasfitter.
