Takapuna has no single housing style. Grand Victorian houses once lined Lake Pupuke and the beachfront, baches, farmhouses and villas followed into the 1920s, architect-designed homes sit on the roads running down to the water and the lake, and the beachfront and lakeside have been redeveloped since the 1980s alongside plenty of infill and apartments.
