The signs are usually indirect
Damp plaster, a stain that dries out and comes back, a warm patch on the floor, a water meter that ticks over with every tap off, or a bill that has jumped for no reason. Older Auckland homes with Dux Quest pipework are a common source.
The mistake is opening walls on a hunch. We narrow it down first.
How we find it
We isolate sections of the house, check the meter, look at pressure, follow the pipe runs and look for the tell-tale signs on the outside before we cut anything. Most leaks are found with a small, tidy opening rather than a wrecked wall.
Once found, you hear what the repair involves, what access it needs and what it costs, before we go on.

A leak repair is only finished when the cause is dealt with. If one section of Dux Quest has split, the rest is on the same clock, and we tell you that straight so you can plan, rather than calling us back every few months.

Common questions
Will you have to cut holes in my walls?
Sometimes, but small ones and only once we know where the leak is. Finding it first is the whole point of the process.
My insurer wants a plumber's report. Can you provide one?
Yes. We document what we found, where, and what was done, with photos, which is what most insurers ask for.
Is Dux Quest really that bad?
It was fitted in a lot of Auckland homes through the 1970s and 80s and it fails at the fittings with age. If yours is leaking in one place, it is worth having the rest checked.
