Stop before it overflows
If the bowl is filling, do not flush again. Turn the water off at the little valve beside the cistern, or lift the cistern lid and hold the float up. Then call us with your suburb and what you have already tried.
A plunger fixes a toilet that is blocked at the pan. It does nothing for a blockage further down the line, which is where most repeat problems live.

One toilet, or the whole house?
A single slow toilet is usually a local blockage. A toilet that gurgles when the shower drains, or backs up along with the sink, means the blockage is in the main line and every fixture is on the same clock.

Cleared properly, cause explained
Clearing a toilet is the easy part. If it keeps blocking there is a reason, usually a bad fall, a broken joint or roots, and we tell you straight. If it is a one-off you hear that too. No one here talks you into a repair you do not need.
If the drain itself is cracked or root-bound, the repair is done and certified by our licensed drainlayer. Verify on the PGDB register.

Blocked toilet questions
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Yes, a $50 call-out. Tell us what the toilet is doing and we talk you through the visit before anything is booked. You get the price before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
The toilet won't unblock with a plunger. What now?
Stop plunging: if it has not shifted after a few goes, the blockage is past the pan and pushing harder only forces water back up. Turn the water off at the cistern and call a blocked toilet plumber. We unblock a toilet from the pan or the line, whichever the blockage is in.
Can I use drain cleaner in the toilet?
Please do not. Caustic cleaners rarely reach the blockage, they damage older pipework, and they make the job unpleasant for whoever clears it. Turn the water off and call us.
Why does my toilet gurgle when the washing machine drains?
Air is being pushed back through the toilet because the main line is partly blocked or the vent is restricted. That is a main line problem, not a toilet problem, and we clear it from the gully trap.
Will you have to remove the toilet?
Rarely. Most blockages are cleared through the pan or from the gully trap outside. If the suite has to come off we tell you first.
